Setting up your Video Doorbell 

Video Doorbell requires a Sync Module to function. Before setting up your doorbell, ensure you have a Sync Module connected to your account. If you don’t, refer to the steps below:

Setting up a Sync Module


Once your Sync Module has been set up, you can proceed with setting up your Video Doorbell in the Blink app.

  1. From the Home Screen, tap the + icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Video Doorbell from the list of devices.
  3. Scan the QR code on the back of the device or tap Enter Serial Manually. Once the serial number has been recognised, select a system to add your Sync Module to and make sure it is disarmed. If no systems are available or if none exist, create a new one with a unique name, then tap Continue. Learn more about creating and managing systems.
  4. Remove the battery cover. Tap Continue.
  5. Insert the three included AA lithium (non-rechargeable) batteries. Tap Continue.
  6. Tap Discover Device when the LED ring flashes red, indicating it is ready for setup. If an error occurs, tap Retry and repeat the process. When successfully added, tap Continue.
  7. Name your device by selecting any of the available default options, or tap Custom to enter a unique name. When ready tap Continue
  8. Tap Mount Doorbell and follow the in-app instructions to mount now. To skip mounting instructions, tap Maybe later.
  9. To complete set up, tap Done. Your Video Doorbell appears on the Home Screen under your selected system.
    •  If desired, you can now arm your system to enable motion notifications.
