Setting up your Outdoor Camera

Outdoor Camera requires a Sync Module to function. Before setting up your camera, ensure you have a Sync Module connected to your account. If you don’t, refer to the steps below:

Setting up a Sync Module

Once your Sync Module has been added, you can proceed with setting up your Outdoor 2K+ in the Blink app.

  1. From the Camera app Home screen, tap the + icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Wireless Cameras.
  3. During setup, be sure to keep your new wireless camera in the same room as your Sync Module—within 7 feet (2 m). Tap Continue.
  4. Use the provided right-angle tool to unscrew the centre (turn anticlockwise) and remove the camera’s back cover. Tap Continue.
  5. Install the two included Energizer Lithium AA (non-rechargeable) batteries, making sure to align them with the + and – symbols marked inside. Tap Continue.
  6. Locate the QR code and device serial number (DSN) on the back of the camera and tap Scan QR Code. Scan the QR code or tap Enter Serial Manually to enter the device serial number.
  7. Choose a system for your Outdoor 2K+ camera that includes a Sync Module and tap Continue.
    Your system must be disarmed to add your camera. If your system is armed, tap Disarm when prompted. 
  8. When the LED lights blink red on the front of your camera, tap Discover Device.
  9. Your camera may need a firmware update, which takes a few moments. Once you see a message confirming the camera has been added, tap Continue.
  10. Name your camera by selecting a default option or tap Custom to enter a unique name.
  11. On the Settings Presets screen, choose the option that works best for you and tap Confirm Preset.
  12. Tap Done to complete setup, or tap Mounting information if you need help mounting your camera now. 
  13. Replace the back cover of your camera by turning the screw clockwise (to the right) three times using the right-angle adaptor, coin, or large screwdriver until the back cover sits flush with the camera.
    Note: The silicone plug covering the USB port must always be covered for your camera to be weather-resistant.
